Flying has always been a great interest and love the sensation and emotion it creates. My decision to take up photography as a hobby has taken me many places. The love for wildlife adds to the subjects I get to capture and takes me to interesting places. From the Airfield at Brakpan, Petit, Air Shows to Game Parks and open fields of Cullinan shooting images from an open door of a helicopter. Since this is not a profession, it is great to be involved in some interesting events. Some highlights were the Bear Grylls Survival Academy in South Africa where I was appointed photographer on the inaugural event. I recently started frequenting the Brakpan Airfield. This is a fantastic airfield on the outskirts of the East Rand in J ohannesburg where I spend a lot of time with a group of Alouette Pilots. This lead to amazing flying experiences with the Alouette helicopters they immaculately restored, maintain and fly. We had unforgettable  experiences together. Frequenting the odd Air Show in South Africa is a good pass time and offers a great day’s flying entertainment. Some great photo opportunities come up and it is a joy to visit these shows. Some of my work has been  published in African Pilot, SA Flyer, Die Beeld newspaper, 2 editions of Kuluma magazine and The Leadership Magazine. This is just a small window into some of my more memorable experiences…
